Jeremy Strachan teaches at the University of Ottawa and Carleton University. From 2019–2021, he held a Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship at Queen’s. Previous to that, he held postdoctoral appointments at the Université de Montréal and Cornell University. Strachan holds a PhD (2015) in Musicology from the University of Toronto, a Masters (2009) in Ethnomusicology from Memorial University, and Bachelor of Music (2006, Toronto). His research has been supported by numerous grants and fellowships, including an AMS 50 Dissertation Fellowship. His work appears in various journals and edited volumes, and he is currently pursuing several research projects related to experimentalism, interculturality, and settler colonialism in Canadian Music. Jeremy lives in Toronto with his partner Naomi, and their two kids Genevieve and Jasper. Aside from his work studying music and culture in Canada, Jeremy rides his bike as much as he possibly can.
